Valuation FAQs

How business valuation works

How are private UK businesses valued?

Most established SMEs are valued on a multiple of their maintainable profit (often EBITDA), adjusted for things like growth, customer concentration, management depth and assets in the business.

Why only businesses turning over £1M+?

That is the size of business we acquire and invest in, so it is where our valuation is most useful and most accurate.

Am I committing to sell?

Not at all. Many owners simply want to know where they stand. What you do with the valuation is entirely your decision.

Can my accountant be involved?

Of course. We're happy to speak with your accountant or adviser, and they can share figures with us directly.
